Asain BBQ - Instant Pot Keto Friendly Recipe

 

Why make cooking more challenging than it needs to be? Check out this easy keto-friendly recipe that uses one of our favorite cooking gadgets - an Instant Pot! If you haven’t heard of this wizard of a kitchen tool, it’s a super easy-to-use, programmable pressure cooker.

This simple bbq-style recipe takes an easy 30 minutes of cook time on the Manual Setting of the Instant Pot. Simply prep the recipe in a freezer bag if you would like to meal plan in advance, and pull it out when you’re ready to use your Instant Pot. 

The meal prep can last up to 3 months in your freezer, making it the perfect option for an on-the-go lifestyle that needs easy meal options.

Ingredients

Ingredients to Meal Prep in Freezer 

2-3 lbs boneless beef (or meat of your choice) roast, fat trimmed, cubed

½ cup low-sodium beef or chicken broth

⅓ cup golden monk fruit sweetener

¼ cup liquid aminos

1 ½ tbsp minced garlic

1 tbsp sesame oil

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 tbsp freshly grated ginger

2 tsp hot sauce (depending on how spicy you like your food, adjust accordingly)

½ tsp onion powder

½ tsp pepper

 

After the Instant Pot 

After you take your meal prep out of the freezer bag, add the below ingredients after you cook the above ingredients together in your Instant Pot along with any other ingredients you prefer to have with this asain bbq style of recipe.

1 ½ tsp xanthan gum

3 tbsp thinly sliced green onions

 

Instructions

Prepare Freezer Bag: Add ingredients directly to freezer bag (no mixing required!) and freeze until you’re ready to cook.


To Cook: Follow Instant Pot Instructions


Instant Pot Instructions: Add frozen ingredients to your Instant Pot insert, set your Instant Pot to “Manual” and set the timer for 30 minutes. 


After cooking, allow the Instant Pot to naturally release pressure. Once you can unscrew the lid of the Instant Pot, it’s fully depressurized.


Final Steps: In ¼ tsp increments, add xanthan gum until you reach desired thickness of dish and, using a spoon, fold into sauce until sauce thickens. Serve in bowls and garnish to taste.
